Simon Gren

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in Political Science at Aarhus University and work in Jan Vogler’s ERC-funded project EQUILIBRIUM, which examines how to break cycles of distrust and poor public service quality in state–citizen relations.

I defended my PhD at the University of Gothenburg in September 2026. My dissertation examined how Sweden’s school voucher system affects educational outcomes and democratic accountability. My broader research interests include state–citizen relations, political behavior, and the role of generative AI in democratic institutions.
